Visit Barong Tongkok Village  



Barong Tongkok, is the capital of west Kutai along the mid Mahakam River, the village is nice to spend the night. Barong Tongkok is surrounded by mountains with small waterfalls, with simple lodges, souvernir shops, and land transport to take visitors to other Dayak villages arround. Linongangmapan is between Barong Tongkok and Tering, An ancient megalith site is found here. To reach the location, one must walk for a distance of about 40 kilometers, Kersik Luway National Park, has many wild Orchids and pitcher plant species. Other tourist spots in this region are Jentur Gemuruh waterfall and Pepas Eheng Dayak village with an old Longhouse for 35 Families belongs to the Barong Tongkok district. Plait work, rattan furniture and Tunjung Dayak statues are made here.
Barong Tongkok village is the center of West Kutai Regency in Indonesia East Kalimantan Province.
