Floating Market Banjarmasin & Borneo Wildlife
Take a brief journey to the island of Borneo, also known as Kalimantan in Indonesia. Begin by exploring the rich cultural heritage found in the traditional floating markets, where you can witness local customs and interactions. Experience the fascinating process of traditional gemstone and diamond mining, a practice that has been passed down through generations. Then, venture to Bakut Island located along the Barito River, where you can spot proboscis monkeys, a unique species found nowhere else. Continue your exploration to the Orangutan Islands, specifically Pulau Palas and Pulau Kaja, where you can observe these intelligent and graceful creatures in their natural habitat. Finally, take in the breathtaking view of the emerald-green jungle from the summit of Mount Tangkiling, which offers a panoramic overlook of the vast and lush rainforests of Kalimantan.

Upon arrival at Banjarmasin airport, meeting service, by car/minibus transfer to hotel for check in. Afternoon we will cruise by canoe Barito River which split Banjarmasin City to the Island Bakut, a small Island in the Barito River with exotic forest and wildlife as proboscis monkeys, during the canoe cruise we can see the activities of locals along the riverside, as Kalimantan is the land of Rivers, In the evening Dinner at Local Restaurant and free at leisure for sightseeing in down-town Banjarmasin.
Day 02: FLOATING MARKET, PALANGKARAYA, TANGKILING MOUNTAIN (BLD)
Early in the morning, we will visit the floating market of Banjarmasin as being part of Kalimantan ’s river-life, here we can explore the unique culture of Banjarese who trade commodities as fruit, and vegetables from boat to boat. Afterwards we return to the hotel, check-out of the Hotel, and continue our journey overland by car/minibus to Palangka Raya, on the way you see village life with rice plantations, and swamp forest. Upon arrival at Palangkaraya, we check in at hotel. Lunch on the way at local restaurant, In the afternoon, we bring a visit to the Mount Tangkiling, which give us a nice view of Kalimantan ‘s emerald jungle landscape from the top. We continue to visit the orangutan Rehabilitation center Nyaru Menteng arboretum for information of the rehabilitation process of these wildlife creatures, which can only be found at Sumatra and Borneo Island, We close our day visits with a romantic sunset which we can view the best from the Tahai lake. Dinner at Local Restaurant.
Day 03: ORANGUTAN ISLANDS, PALANGKARAYA AIRPORT (B)
After breakfast in the morning, we will proceed to the harbor of Rungan River for s cruise by canoe upstream Rungan River to Orangutan Islands (Kaja Island & Palas Island ). Orangutan Islands are covered with lowland forest, with lots of wildlife and birds, where we can spot the orangutans from the river side, Afterwards we return to hotel, free at leisure, till departure time to Palangkaraya airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
