Kayan Mentarang National Park
Kayan Mentarang Park is a jungle wildlife reserve located in the center of Borneo, on the Indonesian island of Kalimantan. This area is home to the Dayak tribe, who have lived in the region for generations and continue to follow a traditional lifestyle. They cultivate their food using dry rice field farming techniques, and also rely on hunting and fishing to meet their daily needs.
Access to Kayan Mentarang Park is quite challenging, requiring a lot of patience, determination, and a genuine sense of adventure. Travelers must navigate through river rapids in remote areas to reach this region, which is situated along the border of Borneo’s states of Sabah and Sarawak, far from the coastal areas of Kalimantan.
