Mangkiling Jungle Wildlife at Meratus Mountains

Mangkiling, located in the Benawa district, is a remote region that is largely covered by dense jungle, nestled deep within the interior of the area. This place is known for its cool and pleasant climate, as it is beautifully shaded by towering trees and situated along the banks of a swiftly flowing river. Despite its challenging accessibility, many travelers who visit South Kalimantan Island make it a point to explore this area. Near Mangkiling, there is a village that is home to several thousand people.
To reach Loksado from Barabai, travelers typically pass through several key locations, including Hantakan, Tilahan, Kampung Baru, and Papangkan.
In addition to Loksado, there are several other interesting tourist sites that can be visited starting from Barabai. For instance, Ugud village is just one hour away by foot from Barabai. From Ugud, it takes about three hours on foot to reach Namang. A short 15-minute walk from Namang leads to Batu Kembar. Continuing further, it takes approximately three hours to get to Kiyo from Batu Kembar. From Kiyo, visitors can trek for another three hours to reach Datai Alai. Finally, the journey from Datai Alai to Kadayang is quite long, taking around 11 hours of travel.
