Kayan Mentarang Adventure Tours
The Krayan mountains, are
located in the Bulungan regency, in the Long Bawan area, Krayan
district of Kayan Mentarang National Park. At the Highland Plateau the
salt content of the river water here is sufficiently high to produce
salt for the people's household needs. The curious thing is that Krayan
lies on a plateau 1,700 meters above sea level, far into the hinterland
of Kalimantan. The region is relatively fertile, and agricultural
products such as rice are exported from this region to Tarakan, Tanjung
Selor, and Tanjung Redep.
Krayan
Area is the Isolated area of Kayan Mentarang National Park at Indonesia
Borneo Island Kalimantan. Traditional Dayak Tribes, with a wealth of
ecological and cultural treasures that survive deep within the
rainforest jungle. The area covers the upper course of the Krayan River
and borders of the Upper Bahau River to the south, The flora
in it’s vicinity of Kayan Mentarang Nature Reserve
as a protected Cloud Rain Forest area of about 1.600.000
hectares are more then hundred years old. However, there are
more attractions then dense jungle only at the highland plateau between 900
and 1,000 meters above sea level. The slopes and sandstone
valleys, the impenetrable forest and dense undergrowth draped
in giant orchids, including the famous black orchid, and rhododendrons,
beside the caves and burial sides. The traditional Dayak Tribes who
living in the area including the Dayak Punan, Dayak Sa'baan and Lun
Daleh. A feeling of freedom will rise when we have a mountain
view to over-see the valuable forest trees of Borneo.
